Impact

Since 2009, we've given visibility to research and personal accounts demonstrating how pornography can negatively impact individuals, relationships, and society. Through this grassroots movement, millions of people have found hope and freedom. We couldn't do this without Fighters like you!

I’m a school counselor and think this is the best presentation I have seen for teens.

Fighter here, THANK YOU for all that you do! I was inspired to give again by your tweets today. I see that you received pushback from someone who is uninformed and I like how you handled it with facts. Keep fighting for all of us! We may seem like a minority voice but many more of us see the truth beyond the lies of pornography. The tide will turn.

What you’re doing is so essential to help people engage in healthy, lasting relationships. My marriage was deeply affected by porn. Everything you say is true, I witnessed it firsthand. Once the ‘secret’ was out we were finally able to address all the problems porn caused and it has been a years-long process. As a wife, it’s utterly gut-wrenching to find out your partner was betraying your trust and destroying intimacy in your marriage by using porn. My husband became withdrawn, uninterested in me, irritable, and his behavior completely changed. He was doing a multitude of other things that were destructive to himself and our relationship. Deception became normal, and more extreme behaviors became OK. Our marriage was robbed of true love and intimacy by porn. My husband has so much more awareness now. He’s at a local Fight the New Drug presentation with our sons right now! Thanks for everything you’re doing!

I wish we had this knowledge 30 years ago. My instincts were spot on but I had no evidence to back me up. The evolution of global connectivity turned this industry into a virus. This three-part series is so well done. Kudos! It’s modern, relevant, vulnerable, silly, and lighthearted where appropriate. The last part made me cry. Your research and approach have made it non-threatening to all. I know the hard work put into this on the cinematography and filming alone. I am unraveling my world and healing as we speak. Your website is very profound. Thank you.

One of the biggest reasons I support Fight the New Drug is because of your basis in science. Having a strong psychological and physiological foundation provides you with credibility. It also makes your message more accessible, no matter the worldview or background. I also appreciate your understanding and support of people suffering from an addiction to pornography. Shaming those struggling isn’t going to help them in their fight to do and be better. Thank you for all you do and keep up the good work!

I really enjoyed the many aspects of Brain, Heart, World, and how it showed that females struggle, too. I did not understand until last year when I was doing my high school senior thesis paper and presentation that women also struggled, which just shows the stigma behind the subject.

Hey! Thank you very much for the work you do. The resources you make available have helped me a lot.

Man, I absolutely love what Fight the New Drug is doing. I was held captive to a porn addiction for 10 years, and I’ve been free for 5 months. Fight the New Drug was a key component to my freedom.

There are so many things I’d like to say, but I teared up a couple of times. The personal stories are extremely powerful and I can relate to many of them. Thank you so much for doing this and stepping out into the world with confidence and without fear.

I want to share my freedom journey and thank this organization for bringing awareness to something that’s so damaging. Over the past decade, I’ve been in a tormenting relationship with pornography, damaging me from the inside out. I was exposed as a young kid, by a cousin. Curiosity sank in and I started acting out things I saw. I worked and lived among great people, yet I had a secret addiction. Once I finally broke the silence, healing began. I have been porn-free for a few months now and not having the weight of porn on me has been incredible. Thank you for what you are doing.

My experience stirred a passion to get my Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology to become better equipped to confront the porn industry. My heart is for women to find freedom from porn. I have been trying to network and connect with other ladies who have a similar journey. We’re all in this together. The more women break the silence, the less of a stronghold porn has.

I’m grateful to just now be finding out about your movement and I fully support it. I have always felt this way about pornography and it’s actually a very lonely feeling to have this mindset when everyone else is so desensitized to it. At least I know there are others out there that see how harmful it really is.

I wanted to send a quick message just to thank y’all for all you do. I am a high school teacher and this is the second year I have assigned your Brain, Heart, World documentary to my students. They really enjoyed it and learned a lot. One of my students told me today how passionate she has now become about this issue and has started having conversations with her own family and friends about it. Definitely some new Fighters out there for sure! So from one Fighter to another, thank you for the work you do. Know that it definitely does make a difference and you are definitely accomplishing your mission to educate about the harmful effects of pornography to the world! Thank you again.
