I know you guys probably get hundreds of DMs, but I just wanted to thank the people who run this account. I have struggled with porn since I accidentally came across it on Pinterest (of all the places) when I was 10 years old. My entire childhood/young adulthood has been plagued by the horrible cycle of guilt, shame, resistance, redemption, and inevitable pain again that comes from a life of porn addiction. And it hurts so badly to know that my feelings are nothing compared to those of the people I helped exploit. It’s haunting. On nights that I’m struggling, getting on Instagram and reading your stories gives me the strength to say no. Thank you for helping me in the fight for real love. I fight for the dignity of every person.
I just want to say thank you to the people at FTND. I started watching porn at a young age and even got caught multiple times, but couldn’t stop watching it. I realized I was addicted when I was 14, but was never motivated enough to do something about it. Watching your videos on IGTV really helped me find motivation to give up porn. From sex trafficking to how it affects relationships, I realized how much damage I was doing to myself. But after knowing that, I just started feeling bad about myself. That’s when your Brain, Heart, World series came in handy. I was able to see all the people who had struggled with porn and could relate to their stories. I didn’t feel alone anymore. I’m truly inspired by FTND. Thank you so much for taking a stand on this platform. Groups like this are going to change the world.
I found Fight the New Drug not long after my relationship ended, and while the path has had some speed bumps, I feel so much more free. I feel so much more clear. I feel more whole as a person. I have obtained a clarity when it comes to proper, healthy goals in seeking a lasting, loving relationship. Whenever I rock a FTND t-shirt, it’s always a conversation starter—and frankly, it’s a conversation that should be happening more often in today’s society, and it’s a conversation I’m proud to launch in my community.
