Impact

Since 2009, we've given visibility to research and personal accounts demonstrating how pornography can negatively impact individuals, relationships, and society. Through this grassroots movement, millions of people have found hope and freedom. We couldn't do this without Fighters like you!

Recently, I was walking down the street in my city, and I heard this couple read my FTND shirt out loud as I walked by. So I turned around and smiled at them and struck up a conversation. They were a married couple, probably in their thirties, and they were just genuinely curious about what an 18-year-old was doing with a shirt like mine on. So I happily shared my whole story about how I was addicted to porn from 5th grade until sophomore year of high school, and how I’ve been walking in freedom since then. I shared about its connection to trafficking and the dangers of shame. It really just ended up being a really cool conversation for all of us!

My husband struggled with addiction to pornography since his teenage years. The first time I found out, I was pregnant with our first child and didn’t react well. The second time he confessed to me I was in a better place and my reaction was totally different. I asked how I could help, cheered him on, and sometimes babysat his phone when he was feeling tempted. He hasn’t viewed pornography for 2 years! Being loving and understanding truly made all the difference.

I’ve been following you guys for more than a year. A week ago, I confessed to someone that I struggle with porn. Once those words left my mouth, I felt this huge relief off my chest. I’ve been struggling with porn since I was 10 years old and now I am 24 years old. I hid my addiction in the dark, but now it’s in the light. I just want to thank you guys for this page. It’s been so helpful, and now I can walk on this path to freedom! My chains have been broken!

I watched porn and it made me feel really uncomfortable, yet a lot of people see it as harmless fun,so I thought I must be a “prude.” Seeing your YouTube videos changed that. I know porn is unhealthy for individuals and society, and people are exploited terribly in the industry. The only people who benefit from this issue are those making money from it. Keep up the good work in creating awareness.

I work at a huge tech company, and we usually deal with websites that can host pornography. People made jokes about it at first, including my coworkers. I introduced them to FTND and its informational side regarding what porn does to the brain. Anyways, a few days ago, my buddy at work let me know it’s made an impact on him and that he’s going to stop consuming porn. I feel really good about it. It’s hard being a woman in technology (especially because we are outnumbered 4:1) but it’s even harder when objectification of women is something that’s just happening in front of our faces without even knowing the true effects of it on our brain long term. I feel like I bring important things to the table being a lady in tech, and FTND has been a significant thing in my life. I’m spreading it like wildfire. I’m tired of it being the norm.

Hi, I’ve been struggling with a porn addiction for at least 4 years now. I just wanted to let y’all know that looking through your different content really helped me to finally tell my girlfriend about my addiction. I’m almost a month clean now. Keep fighting the good fight.

Super thankful to find you guys during recovery. 15 days so far and I feel like I have an entirely new mindset. I’m more calm, focused, clear, and confident than even before. It’s the wildest thing: I could probably count on one hand the amount of times I even got 15 days porn-free in over 13 years. This time it’s for good and I’m not looking back. I have new habits in place and am running straight through this thing!

In the past, I have profited a lot from your materials for the preparation of my own porn awareness presentations. Thanks!
