Impact

Since 2009, we've given visibility to research and personal accounts demonstrating how pornography can negatively impact individuals, relationships, and society. Through this grassroots movement, millions of people have found hope and freedom. We couldn't do this without Fighters like you!

I first was introduced to porn when I was in 6th grade when I found my father’s VHS collection. I struggled for over 10 years. It wasn’t until I admitted my addiction to my then-fiancé (now wife) that I was able to overcome the addiction. It isn’t easy, and triggers are everywhere, but having support from my loved ones and pages like this have made all the difference. Clean and clear for over two years now. I have four brothers who are all working on their recovery because of me. Porn would’ve killed my marriage to a wonderful woman who I have been with for 11 years now.

It is a breath of fresh air to be able to listen and learn about the harmful, toxic effects of pornography from a research and facts-based organization. We need more great people in this world like the folks at FTND. While porn does not always show physical damage on the outside, it produces emotional rifts on the inside.

My boyfriend has struggled with porn for the majority of his life. He’s stayed clean ever since we’ve been dating, but sometimes his irrational expectations of intimacy have bothered me. I now understand from this documentary where that comes from. His reward system is trying to get what it needs in other areas. I’m so grateful for these episodes so that I can understand him better and that we can talk about how it has affected his brain. Thank you!

My boyfriend eventually broke up with me because after a year of me trying to fight with him, he “just didn’t see my problem with him watching porn.” I’d like to thank your organization, not only for making these articles and trying to educate people on porn’s harms, but also for responding to my personal story when I needed it the most. I’ll keep fighting for love—thank you.

Thank you so very much for your podcast and the way you and your guests talk so frankly about their journeys with pornography. My husband has been living porn-free for the past year but struggled to get free for eight months before that. I spoke about our journey at a community event recently and used much of the information that I learned from FTND and from listening to your podcast. I know that pornography is hurting so many families. I really appreciate what you all are doing to help people know the truth. It is helping me to heal from the betrayal trauma. I know it is helping many who have been hurt in a variety of ways.
