Impact

Since 2009, we've given visibility to research and personal accounts demonstrating how pornography can negatively impact individuals, relationships, and society. Through this grassroots movement, millions of people have found hope and freedom. We couldn't do this without Fighters like you!

Your hard work is paying off. I love you and thank you. People are waking up to the harmful effects of this industry!

Thank you for everything you do to help people struggling with porn to see the truth. So proud of all of you.

Well, I just told my parents about my porn addiction. I was really worried, but they took it very well and were very comforting. Definitely worth it.

I always had the strong feeling that I was alone with this, especially because I’m a woman. But since I started this journey of recovery, I noticed that this is not exclusively a male problem. Girls struggle, too. With a huge amount of courage, I told my best friend about my struggle. She said: “You know what? I don’t care what you’re struggling with. You’re still the same, wonderful person I love so much.” This changed my life. I started to tell more people that I trusted and always got a similar response: we’re in this together.

So to all the Fighters out there, I want to encourage you! Tell someone you trust about your struggle. It will not get better by hiding and shaming yourself. You are powerful and worthy of love! I’m currently still recovering. My journey is not over yet. But I hang in there. I know one day I will be able to say that I beat this. And I can’t wait for this day!

Thank you for this well-crafted resource! I’m watching it with my teens now and I really appreciate this opportunity to share with them the dangers of pornography in an engaging way. We already talk about it, but it’s really nice to have another avenue to reinforce the concept.

It’s information that I’ve seen many times before, but the way it is presented here is much more human. I like the hopeful message of Brain, Heart World, and I am extremely glad that you are helping propagate this information. People really need to hear it. I need to hear it. I am trying to free myself, and it is so easy to lie to myself to justify it. Knowledge is the power people need to overcome this. Thank you for providing that knowledge.

FTND has opened our eyes to a problem that is only getting worse! Pornography is no laughing matter. It is breaking up families, shaming men and women across the board. FTND has opened a topic that NEEDS to be discussed with the youth of today. We have been able to have open, healthy talks with our own kids about pornography. Thanks to FTND we can talk to our daughters, their husbands, and our son openly about how destructive pornography is. Thanks, FTND! You have opened our eyes, and strengthened our relationship with our kids!

My husband struggled with addiction to pornography since his teenage years. The first time I found out, I was pregnant with our first child and didn’t react well. The second time he confessed to me I was in a better place and my reaction was totally different. I asked how I could help, cheered him on, and sometimes babysat his phone when he was feeling tempted. He hasn’t viewed pornography for 2 years! Being loving and understanding truly made all the difference.

Hey, I really don’t know if you’ll ever see my message, but I wanted to say thank you! I am so happy that I found your account because in the past I thought that I was alone with my opinion about porn. I think that your content is really important for many people.

I was first introduced to porn at 14. I’m now 19. I’ve been addicted for five years. It’s been an absolute net negative on my life, and I think it’s contributed to some of my anxiety, self-deprecating thoughts, and brash behavior. I’ve wanted to quit for what feels like forever now, but I keep relapsing. It all came to a head today when I couldn’t take it anymore and found your website. I haven’t even finished looking through all the resources yet, but I’m eager to do so, because after watching Jane Doe’s video interview about how she was sex trafficked, I want nothing to do with porn ever again. In fact, I want it as far away from me as possible. I can’t even begin to imagine how awful that poor woman felt. If I had the opportunity to say something to her, I would likely just say how sorry I am. Whoever is reading this, thank you.

This movement has been crucial to my 10+ years recovering from porn. Since being introduced as an 8-year-old child, I have found the light on the other side of the tunnel, but recovery is not easy. Thank you for your openness and honesty about what porn does to our brains and lives. I was gifted a Street Team kit for Christmas and I took it to Romania and handed FTND’s resources to students who had never before taken the time to consider the dangers of porn over its momentary pleasure. I wish you could have seen the lightbulb going off in their eyes! It’s only right that I can support you guys, so I do.

The work that FTND does was key to overcoming my pornography addiction. I always considered what I was doing as harming no one but myself, but coming to terms with the violence and trafficking within the sex industry was eye-opening and led me to stop consuming. Thank you!
