While growing up in a small town in Texas, Jose was terrified to come out as gay to his family. After coming out, the rejection he faced from his parents played a role in leading Jose to rely on predatory strangers for support and survival.
Unfortunately, what happened next included a pattern of sexual abuse, manipulation, and sex trafficking at the hands of abusers who disguised themselves as partners wanting to help Jose.
See how Jose ultimately escaped the world of sex trafficking, learned to love himself, and became an advocate for other survivors.
