Just wanted to say I’ve been through a lot in my 24 years of life, but my porn/sex obsession has probably been one of the toughest to kick. Maybe it’s because it’s so easy to access, maybe because so many people think it’s okay . . . There are a lot of reasons, but seeing your posts and your stories do help me know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I’ll be okay. I’ll be better than okay, someday. And I’ll win this fight.
Thank you so very much for your podcast and the way you and your guests talk so frankly about their journeys with pornography. My husband has been living porn-free for the past year but struggled to get free for eight months before that. I spoke about our journey at a community event recently and used much of the information that I learned from FTND and from listening to your podcast. I know that pornography is hurting so many families. I really appreciate what you all are doing to help people know the truth. It is helping me to heal from the betrayal trauma. I know it is helping many who have been hurt in a variety of ways.
I was going through a rough time after high school when I had friends who over-sexualized everything and it really hurt my self-esteem to the point I was so anxious that I could hardly eat anything. I had just ended that friendship and was trying to get on a healing path after graduation when I saw a post of yours on Facebook. This page is so inspiring and really puts light on how harmful and objectifying porn is! It gives scientific facts and concrete evidence that proves how destructive our culture is becoming toward young people by sexualizing them before they have a chance to figure out who they are for themselves. I love this page and thank you for all you do!
Porn is something that I believed was normal for the majority of my life. Over the past couple of months, I have started to realize how it was affecting me, and then I discovered this page. Hesitant at first to learn and dive into all the knowledge you guys have to offer, today I sat down and finished the three-part video series Brain, Heart, World. LIFE CHANGING! It was fun, truthful, interesting, scary, and most importantly, it brought up so many good points on how this “normalized” drug is affecting not only myself but our society as a whole. Porn KILLS LOVE! I am starting my fight today!
Hi! I just want to say that I’m really glad to have bumped into this organization on Instagram. It has helped me understand so much about the negative effects of porn and the reality of the industry. Although I don’t have an addiction to porn, I used to watch it. I think educating myself on the topic made me so aware of the negative aspects of the industry. I think I feel shame from unknowingly giving support to something that has so much correlation to horrible situations people face, but I’m just glad that is something that I have pushed myself to combat. Thank you so much for your platform and for bringing awareness; it is very much needed! I appreciate it so much and keep doing what you are doing, FTND!
WOW! That’s an incredibly powerful docuseries. I had a similar experience to one of the guys in the film as a kid, and messed up a lot of my life. It took years of hard work to stop watching porn, and I’m still tempted. This film was so motivational to stay free and focus on healthy relationships and experiencing life.
Today marks 6 months of freedom from an addiction I had for about 9 years . . . 6 whole months. I didn’t think that would be possible! But I chose to fight, to keep fighting, and still choose to fight (even though it’s tough), and I’ve almost felt the rewiring in my brain!
This freedom has allowed me to love my friends so much more than I ever could before because my heart hasn’t been split between a screen and my friends. I think I’m happier, more content, and better at loving than I was in my early 20’s! Happy happy days.
