We have the best followers in the world. We know we say it often, but only because it’s true. Your support, effort, and voice make this movement what it is; we could not do this without you.

Every day, we are amazed by the incredible amount of support we get from Fighters all over the world who are raising awareness on the harms of porn in new, inspiring, and creative ways. As this movement continues to grow and more and more individuals realize the harms of pornography, we need you to help spread the word.

As a global family of Fighters who are just as passionate about the cause as we are, we frequently hear from Fighters looking for ways to contribute more directly to the cause and our work.

From 2009 to where we are now, we would be nowhere without our global network of supporters. We are so grateful for the support we receive from everyone who is speaking out, raising their voices, repping the movement, sharing our resources with their friends, family members, and community, and already donating to the cause. We’ve come a long way, but we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us.

The prevalence of pornography in today’s digital environment is nothing short of staggering, and that alone underscores the urgency of our educational work.

Recent data indicate that the average age at which children encounter pornography has dropped to around 11 years old, with many exposed between the ages of 9–10.By the teenage years, studies show that as many as 73% of teens report some form of internet pornography exposure. On top of this, the sheer volume of consumption even by adults is eye-opening. One study shows that over 91% of men and 60% of women report having consumed pornography in the past month.

The societal and individual harms linked to widespread pornography consumption aren’t speculative—they span mental health, relationships, education, and cultural norms.

Research from the American College of Pediatricians outlines associations between pornography use and anxiety, depression, earlier sexual debut, distorted ideas of consent and increased risk of sexual aggression.

Other studies highlight that frequent viewing correlates with lower relationship satisfaction, skewed expectations of intimacy, and greater acceptance of casual sex.Bennett-Brown, M., Wright, P.J. Pornography consumption and partnered sex: a review of pornography use and satisfaction in romantic relationships. For society, this presents a ripple effect: when young people build their view of relationships, sexuality, and identity around models that are unrealistic, hyper-sexualized, or demeaning, the healthy individuals, relationships, and society are threatened. That is why, right now, the work of Fight the New Drug is not just relevant, but essential to creating change.
