Impact

Since 2009, we've given visibility to research and personal accounts demonstrating how pornography can negatively impact individuals, relationships, and society. Through this grassroots movement, millions of people have found hope and freedom. We couldn't do this without Fighters like you!

As a teen, I watched porn all the way until I became pregnant with my first kid. My mother raised us to be aware of addiction and how it sneaks up on you and takes over your life. I knew there was something wrong with the fact that I always resorted back to watching porn. The fact that I couldn’t stop permanently wasn’t “normal,” so I went searching for research on the subject. That’s when I stumbled upon this huge movement called Fight the New Drug.

Once I read the stats on how people are sex trafficked for porn, and how porn is impacting our culture and love, I was devastated that I had been supporting. It pushed me to learn more, and that’s when I learned how porn affects our brains and pulls us into the addiction. I made it my mission to never let my porn addiction affect me again and to reach out to as many people as possible to educate and help others with their addiction to porn. I can PROUDLY say I have not watched porn in two years!! I am proud to be porn-free!

Brain, Heart, World is a really good documentary that made me think. I already made the decision last week to stop watching porn after so many years with many failed attempts. My donation is not going to undo the damage I have contributed to, but I want to be part of turning this around to something good. So please, accept my donation.

I am speechless most of time with the topics that are addressed in these podcasts. I think that I am a better human being, or at least becoming one, because I am hearing these messages.

I just wanted to share that I was able to present to my whole student body about human trafficking, and specifically share about how pornography is connected to sex trafficking. It went well, and some students were really struck by the information about sex trafficking and wanted to change their habits and make a difference. I also received the “Concept in Action Award.” This is an award for a student who embodies the school’s mission. And I wanted to let you know the #NoPornovember Campaign, attending the conference with you all, and just all you do at Fight really inspired all of this for me! Thank you so much!

Hey, guys! Four days ago, I reached my 1-year mark in recovery. I can honestly say that abstaining from porn has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I have my life back! And while I can say my life isn’t perfect, this recovery period has given me the tools I need to embrace every challenge that comes my way! I no longer need to resort to porn to numb my feelings and escape my problems, I found the strength within me to fight and keep moving forward no matter what, and it’s so worth it! I think clearer, I sleep better, my relationships are amazing, and I no longer look at women as objects and can actually look them in the eyes without feeling guilty and wondering what they would say.

Fighting this is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I’m proud to be a Fighter!

As a former porn addict, I am very grateful that this kind of information is getting out there. It helps strengthen my resolve not to regress back into those old habits. This addiction can feed human trafficking along with perpetuating the objectification of my own gender. Can’t thank you enough for your work on this front. Only wish you’d have been around when I was a teen.

FTND has provided me with lots of information regarding the negative reality of the porn industry and the effects viewing pornography has on the consumer. Your website features really informative articles packed with science and facts on the truth about porn and how it affects things like the brain of the consumer, relationships, intimacy, and even society at large. I will support this cause for as long as I live and breathe on this planet. The fact that you aim to impact the most vulnerable of the population, youth, makes me feel like this work needs to continue so long as pornography remains a public health crisis.

Thank you for your efforts to fight this increasingly addictive content, for getting the word out, and for helping guys like me to see the devastation caused by what I once considered an innocent act, a harmless pastime.
